Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you, by worrying, add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:25-34 NIV
As you move through the trials and tribulations that may be coming your way, Do Not Worry!
We all have things and situations that give us a thought process that can make us worry. We worry about our health, finances, kids, jobs, others, and so much more. I have realized that these very things I am worrying about will bring no change to the situation. Worrying causes sickness, stress, nerve problems, hair loss, tiredness, and so much more.
In Matthew 6, Jesus tells us not to worry. We are not to worry about “what we shall eat, drink, or clothes to wear, or life.” He tells us that if He takes care of the birds of the air, why would he not take care of us. Worrying will not add one single hour to our life. “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
All that to say, stop worrying about what you cannot change and trust God to do what He does for us. We tend to put ourselves in a place where we become so overwhelmed with the what if’s! Let us trust in the “who can” our Savior. So today, make the promise to yourself that you will turn it over to God and be set free from worrying. When you set yourself free with God’s help, think about those things in Philippians 4:8, “whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, praiseworthy. Those are the things that will stop us from worrying about what could happen.
I pray God’s blessings over each one of you in all you do throughout the week.
Have a great day!
Blessings,
Rev. Yo
